Mark joined Selkirk General Surgery in 2000 when his tour was completed with the U.S. Air Force. He and his wife sat down one miserable hot day in Biloxi, Mississippi and together they made a list of all the western ski towns in which they might like to live. Sandpoint was the second place they interviewed, after the interview, they canceled the rest.
In his free time Mark likes to ski, swim, and ride his bicycle. He is a volunteer physician for the Schweitzer Ski Patrol. Mark is also the past-president of the Pend Oreille Pedalers bike club, and is still the chairman of the Advocacy committee. He also works on the Bonner County trails coalition. He and his wife are often out with their two German Shepherds.
